Searching for Jobs

A) Where Are the Jobs?

2) Know Your Network

It's About Who You Know

picture of ladies talkingDid you know that 70 % of jobs never get posted in newspapers or on the internet?

So, if most jobs don't get posted, how do people find their jobs?

Looking through newspaper and internet ads is a good way to search for jobs, but don't stop there. The people that you know can lead you to jobs.

When an employer needs to hire someone quickly, they will often ask their contacts if they know someone who could do the job.

Building your circle of contacts can increase your chances of hearing about jobs that don't get posted. This is done through networking.

What is Networking?

It is your circles of contacts. People in your circles already know about your:

  • reliablility
  • ability to organize
  • work ethic

Let your inner circles know that you’re looking for a job. That is the first step in networking.
