New funding support arrived from TELUS, The Community Foundation of Ottawa, The City of Ottawa and Accenture for a new project to be run in partnership with Operation Come Home, The Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa and Tewegan House.

Classes commenced at the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) this month. Seventeer eager new students are registered to take our four-week course.

Tim Birch-Jones, project manager of iTeachnology, the iSisters elearning project was awarded with a United Way Community Builder award at our Annual General Meeting on Nov 2nd for his outstanding contribution to the iSisters community.

The Leacross Foundation Funds Expansion

The Leacross Foundation has funded a new community liaison position at iSisters. The new initiative will build formal and informal connections within the community to connect our learners with employment programs and resources. Within a year, an asset map of employment resources will be produced and made available to our learners and partners, as well as being publicly accessible through our website. This is an essential next step in our growth planning at iSisters. Thank you to Roslyn and the Leacross Foundation for sharing in our vision.
