TUNGASUVVINGAT INUIT COMMUNITY CENTRE
Learners are: Unemployed or underemployed Inuit women (ages 18 - 35) who use the
counselling services of Tungasuvvingat Inuit Community Centre.
The Program - The Employment Support Program will create ICT (Information Communication Technology) learning opportunities for Inuit women focusing on employability skills as well as promoting life-long learning. This program is aligned to ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Standards and The Conference Board of Canada's Employability Skills 2000+. Graduates will receive an iSisters ICT certificate.
In 2004 iSisters won the Conference Board of Canada's Community Learning Award for our Tungasuvvingat Inuit Technology Mentoring Program. This award recognizes innovative community-based programs that use technology to increase inclusiveness in society.
