MOBILE LEARNING LAB

The iSisters Mobile Learning Lab is a new project that will take iSisters' award-winning technology training workshops to young at-risk women in Ottawa in 2011-2012.  We will partner with two community organizations who offer shelter and drop in services to young women.

The iSisters Mobile Learning Lab is featured in the

TELUS 2011 Community Affairs Page.

Backgrounder on the Mobile Learning Lab:

It is a misconception that all young people by virtue of their age and generation are technologically literate. Digital literacy, computer skill development, internet access and its use are closely aligned through economic and cultural factors and those living on the margins, even in a technology rich society, are being left behind. Our partners in this project tell us that the young women accessing services in their shelters and drop-in centres have missed out on opportunities to learn technology skills. The iSisters Mobile Learning Lab Project will offer 21st Century technology skills to these young women in an effort to help them to move forward with their lives and lead them toward further training, education and employment.
